When you watch a show like The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, you expect see two people drinking champagne in a hot tub deep in the Norwegian woods and professing their love in a matter of weeks — it’s the whole point. What you may not expect, though, is that Dancing With the Stars is also a hotbed of Passionate Reality Television Romance (TM). In fact, the show lead to three marriages and one engagement — a relatively high number, considering the fact that it’s not about the pursuit of love, but unimpeachable dance skills.
Then again, it’s not really that weird. These couples spend hours together training, performing, and counting on one another to make viewers smile and approve of their music choices and intricate eight counts. It’s a lot of pressure, both physically and emotionally — the kind of pressure that, if the chemistry is right, can build the foundation for love.
